Kindergarden Crystallography

My daughter (6-epsilon years old) is into patterns. She has been exploring 1D patterns such as ABBABBABBABBA, ABABABA patterns etc etc.
Today we decided to add an extra dimension to this interesting subject. We used Jenga blocks to build 1 dimensional patterns and subsequently 'extended' these patterns in a direction orthogonal to the starting sequence. After that it was a matter of filling things up. This worked for the first two patterns, but *not* for the third. To generate that one, we simply did what feels right and looks beautifull. We added letters to illustrate the basic sequence we started out with.
